Hednesford Town preview

COUNTY v HEDNESFORD
Its a little early in the season for a must win game BUT Hednesford's visit must come close to fitting that description - albeit County do have games in hand.

OPPOSITION FORM

Hednesford are one  of the form teams of the division at present and have shown in recent games they are quite capable of plundering plenty of goals if the opportunity presents itself.

This shows four changes from the team that County met at Keys Park earlier in the season with the most recent additions being Richard Batchelor and Steve Diggin.

Richard Batchelor.

Goalscorer against Barrow was Danny Glover, who also gave Hednesford their half-time lead back in September when County visited. Glover, who was scoring his first gal against County in that game, is Town's top scorer but Batchelor will also need close watching by the County defenders having scored 4 goals in 3 games since arriving.

Dan Crane.

Keeper Dan Crane has been up[ against County several times in the past. The players might well need to put more than our average tally past the 30-year-old of a goal a game if the points are to be claimed.

PREVIOUS MATCHES

Hednesford have a 100% success record at Edgeley Park. Admittedly that is only form one visit. The points were claimed thanks to an early goal from the son of Cameroon's London born World Cup star Charlie Ntamark.

MATCH PROSPECTS

Over the last 6 games Hednesford are just above the Hatters, one point more earned in 4th place compared to County's 7th place. They haven't been slipping many goals so the persistence that got the points last week against Brackley may be needed again with our Staffordshire visitors. One suspension is now clear (Sharp) but top scorer Kristian Dennis will still be kicking his heels so Andy Owens is likely to get another start alongside Lee Stevenson whose goal gave County a Cheshire Senior Cup win in mid-week. It is likely to be another difficult game but is surely winnable - especially if County are to mount a serious promotion challenge.

VANARAMA CONFERENCE NORTH

Looking at the other games for the clubs County are hoping to overtake, Boston United and Chorley meet in Lincolnshire whilst Guiseley and Solihull Moors have potentially awkward trips to Gloucester and Bradford respectively.

The full list of games, and the part of the table as it could directly affect County at the end of the day are shown below.
