Help the Hatters Update 46

Image
Sunday 28 September was not only the day after County`s excellent FA Cup win at Harrogate, it was when County supporters pulled all the stops out again in an inspirational double whammy!   Gate Crew...." They Shall not Pass ...not without paying anyway ! First off...just before 06.00( yes unbelievable isn`t it, but such an hour does exist!), a band of Help the Hatters stalwarts were on site to open the Booth Street Car Park to set another giant Car Boot Sale in motion.   scb.....Man with a mission..... It was a giant affair as well, as over 100 sellers plied their wares .The weather was amazingly balmy for the time of year, so expect Hurricane Herbert to be abroad for the next one!   Chris and David, `park em up !' The organisation, put together by Angela Moore, was spot on and the effort will significantly bolster Help the Hatters efforts to assist the Club.   Fitzy and a barely discernible John Gaskin in the distance!

Harrogate Town 1 County 2 : ( FA Cup 2QR) 27 September 2014

County   secured a place in Monday`s   FA Cup draw with an excellent 2-1 win in North Yorkshire against Harrogate Town, thanks to goals from the returning Richie Baker and ace sniffer of trifles Kristian Dennis. If the first goal was arguably against the run of play, there was no doubting in the end that County were worthy winners. Yes...... County did have a fair bit of pressure to absorb in the 90 odd minutes, but much of it was instigated by balls of the high and hopeful variety from Town, who looked a poor replica of the team that humbled us at the same venue early last term.   Matthew Todd- terrific display under pressure ! County, with debut boy Matthew Todd playing an absolute blinder, coped handsomely with all the Yorkshire side could throw at them. Fagbola was back in for the injured Gregson and played well at centre back along with Lees and O`Halloran. All 3 did well as did Scott Duxbury, but then so did just about everyone in yet another excellent team show
