I’ve Cracked It – England World Cup Winners 2022

You see, it’s been bothering me. When FA chairman Greg Dyke teamed up with those intellectual heavyweights including Rio Ferdinand and Danny Mills    Would be Pasty King, and sometimes football pundit Danny Mills. to come up with a plan to improve the national sides chances of winning…….   Rio  pictured with new defensive partner for 2014/15.  er, anything, and concluded that the best way forward was to essentially obliterate the lower league set up and for good measure the ‘Johnstones Paint’ trophy as well. All this whilst ignoring the rather large Elephant (herd of elephants!) in the room called the Premier League. No matter that end of the game I can safely leave in the capable hands of such visionaries as Patrick Vieira (who thought Greg’s, Rio’s & Danny’s ideas were wonderful)    Vieira , about the time he and Fabio Cannavaro lost out to Martin O`Neil .But in the midst of this close season landscape whilst watching our brave boys capitulate ev

2014 Working Party 6 Wikipedia says that grey....is ` a chromatic colour ,   a colour without colour- the colour of a cloudy sky, ash or lead'. The U.K also once had a Prime Minister called Grey..... Charles.....Earl Grey no less( he of the tea ). He liked to be called Baron Grey ( rather than the more common Earl I guess !!!!!!), ruling the U.K roost from 1830-1834. Grey was also mostly the colour of choice last night, for Working Party 6 at Edgeley Park, as work continued getting the much loved stadium into shape before the season starts . The main body set about laying the grey down on the Pop Side , with a touch of yellow on the gangway twixt Pop Side and Railway End.   Ralph puts blue on red ! This freed up John Gaskin to touch up the Rai

Supporters Cooperative Comedy Night!

Allowing myself a rare moment of honesty.....I must admit that I felt , that with the World Cup still on, the brave call , by the Stockport County Supporters Cooperative, to stage a Comedy Night at Edgeley Park, stood more than a slight chance of going base over apex! How wrong I was! Billy Byrne vetting arrivals affably! I arrived at E.P circa 7.15( ticket said doors open 7.30) to be greeted by Billy Byrne ,Supporters Coop Board Member (   M.O.M and goal scorer, in blog article `Dream' some months back), who was acting as bouncer! I was affably   bounced inside to find that , far from being deserted the tables were already peopled quite substantially.   Compere- Mike Wilkinson. It was after 8 before things started in earnest with compere Mike Wilkinson opening the show in lively fashion. Mike had a likeably informal style as he drew his audience fully into his routine, before introducing the evening`s first headliner Mike Newell.   Mike Ne

Le Weekend - a Northern Perspective.

Pre-season is a difficult time for County bloggers. It provokes a massive attack of writer's block or the despatching of mental search parties in any direction desperately looking for interesting subject matter with an iota of County content. I hope my latest article will appeal to some readers without upsetting others who see red when they see City blue!! The weekend's excitement began when I was invited to attend the 18th birthday party of the grand-daughter of a friend of mine, to be held, of all places, at the Bungalow, adjacent to Edgeley Park. All the bright young things were meant to be misbehaving in the big room whilst we oldies were consigned to the other room to watch the footie and play Lexicon (get a life, I hear you say!!). Of course, when 11.00pm came, all the lads piled in to watch the England match. At this point, I better let you in to the fact that I have no national allegiance whatsoever to the England team and immediately become an em
